All design (sketches, parts, assemblies) shall be conducted using Onshape.
All Documents shall be visible to the team at all times.

The Master Document
</aside>
The Master Document is the core of all design projects. It allows the Lead Designer to control the overall design, and organize and integrate subcomponents from a central location.
The Master Document should contain only the Master Assembly and Master Sketches.

The Essence of Design
The famous designer Charles Eames defined Design as: "A plan for arranging elements to accomplish a particular purpose." This is the essential purpose of Master Sketches.
Master Sketches are foundational 2D sketches that define the key geometric features, dimensions, and relationships for a design. In a top-down design workflow, they act as the blueprint for the entire robot, ensuring that all components align and integrate seamlessly. This arrangement of elements is also known as Packaging.
Packaging refers to the strategic arrangement and integration of all components within the physical constraints of the robot. It involves optimizing the use of available space while ensuring functionality, ease of maintenance, and adherence to competition rules.
Better Sketches make Better Bots
Compared to Parts and Assemblies, Sketches are significantly easier to create and modify, allowing designers to experiment and iterate quicky and easily.
After Kickoff, it would not be uncommon for designers to spend a week or more strictly working in Sketches to develop and optimize critical robot geometry.
Although some early 3D work may be helpful, spending more time thoroughly developing a design in Sketch form will reduce the likelihood and severity of changes later in the process
Master Sketches make changes effortless.
